SO VOTED UNANIMOUSLY
UNWANTED MEDICAL WASTE DISPOSAL
The Board discussed the need to educate the public concerning disposal of unwanted medications. Jane Crowley submitted a letter from Michael Maguire,
Cape Cod Cooperative Extension, Extension Educator concerning unwanted medication disposal. The letter recommended two options for residential disposal
of unwanted medication - 1.) disposal by individuals through household solid waste/trash - 2.) municipally sponsored collections.
Federal law and state law requires towns to have a law enforcement officer on duty when collect medicines. Jane would contact Michael Maguire concerning
the procedure to set up a volunteer program to collected unwanted medications.
REGIONAL ADULT IMMUNIZATION CLINIC
Jane informed the Board that the regional immunization clinic would be held tomorrow May 20, 2010 at the Orleans Council of Aging from 3-7 p.m. All the
shingle vaccine has been assigned.

Dr. Taylor inquired about the inspections of restaurants. Jane told the Board that inspections are done by Sue Barker, Assistant Health Agent before
restaurants open and also spot checking is done during the season. The Cooperative Extension offers Food Safety Certification Classes which anyone serving
food must attend. Sue Barker also deals with inspecting rental property, as well as complaint issues.
Dr. Martin Haspel updated the Board about rules for dogs at Dyer Prince/Rock Harbor Beach. Dogs must be on a leash and from 8:a.m. to 4:p.m. There will be a gate keeper at the beach.
